Thanks for Nothing
NOWSHOW - St. Joost, Breda
2th July โ€“ 6th July 2025
Nominated for St. Joost Penning 2025

Thanks for Nothing is an 8-minute immersive installation that places the visitor in a fictional world shaped by atmospheric visuals, immersive audio, and moral uncertainty. As part of a narrative voice-guided experience, visitors step into the role of a rescue agent and are confronted with ethical dilemmas โ€” situations with no obvious right or wrong.
The story unfolds across all surrounding walls through projection, animation and voice-over, while the physical setup remains intentionally small and intimate. This creates a safe, personal space that encourages intuitive and honest decision-making โ€” free from external judgment.
The dilemmas presented ask not what is โ€œcorrect,โ€ but what feels true to you in the moment. How much are you willing to sacrifice to help someone else? The experience reveals how your decisions reflect your personal values, inviting you to consider what your choices say about who you are.
Thanks for Nothing is a reflection on individualism, empathy, and how we act when we are invited to choose freely โ€” without pressure, and guided only by our own intuition.
